Setting up a build environment
« on: October 02, 2017, 11:54:40 AM »
Here is a page on the OpenWRT website that explains how to setup your computer to build you own OpenWRT / LEDE / Zodiac WX firmware - OpenWrt build system – Installation

Word of warning for MacOS users, upgrading to Xcode 9 or High Sierra (10.13) will break your build system. You can download Xcode 8.3.3 separately from Apple's developer website and install it next to Xcode 9 as long you are still using MacOS Sierra (10.12) or below.

I am trying to update the kernel for my Zodiac WX, I was looking at this list of images https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/17.01.4/targets/ar71xx/generic/

I can't figure out which image to choose.

The Zodiac WX is not on the OpenWRT standard device list, it is a custom device build so there won't be any pre-compiled images for it.

WARNING: If you install a firmware image other than an official Zodiac WX image there is a risk that you may damage the device and make it unusable.

Regards,
