Excellent, I'm glad you got it sorted out.

Have you erased the firmware? If you have it is a different set of drivers.

The Zodiac FX will show up in Windows as 2 different devices on 2 different COM ports depending on how it boots. If you boot from firmware it will show up as the Zodiac and you install the Zodiac drivers which are available from the download post in this forum. However if you have erased the firmware via the ERASE jumper it will boot from inbuilt SAM boot loader and you will have to install the drivers that come with the Atmel's BA tool.

Start by removing the device in Device Manager and reconnecting the Zodiac again then reinstalling the drivers.

I will make a YouTube video in the next couple of days to show how to setup it all up and upgrade the firmware.

Zodiac FX General / Installing unsigned drivers in Windows 8

The Zodiac FX USB drivers are currently not signed which means that some versions of Windows will not allow you to install them, other versions may just prompt you with a warning. If you are installing the drivers on Windows 8 / 8.1 you will need to temporarly  disable signed driver enforcement to install the driver. The guide on the following website How to Disable/Enable Driver Signature Enforcement in Windows 8 and 8.1 provides information on how to do this.

Zodiac FX General / First Public Beta!

Hi Everyone,

At the top of the forum you will see a post that contains links to the latest firmware build and links to our GitHub repo and User Guide, these links will be updated as new versions are released so you can always find the most resent versions in one place.

The firmware is very much a beta product and still needs some work but there is more then enough to get everyone started, it currently includes a fairly complete OpenFlow 1.0 implementation and a usable amount of version 1.3. What it really needs is a community, a group of people who are passionate about OpenFlow and SDN and want to build something great that everyone can learn from. If that is you please drop me a message because we would love to have you involved.

The flow table size is user configurable and dependent on the amount of available RAM, at this point it is expected to be around 512 flows. As for flow install rate I'm not sure because I've never tested it, however I can guarantee it won't come close to a data centre switch. But that was never the point, it will be more then fast enough for testing and development purposes.

Zodiac FX Firmware / Re: OF version and extensibility
« on: December 10, 2015, 04:21:37 PM »
Hi Carmelo,

Currently the Beta has support for 1.0 and we are just starting to add 1.3 functionality, the plan is to have 1.0, 1.3 & 1.4 availble for the release in January. Metering is definitely supported however queuing abilities may be limited due to RAM limitations.
As for extensibility, the firmware is completely open source so are able add any customisations you like either to the OpenFlow library or any other function of the device.
