Zodiac FX General / Re: Zodiac FX closing TCP sesions to ODL
« on: December 21, 2018, 07:16:59 AM »
The Zodiac FX polls the controller at regular intervals to check it is still there, if it doesn't respond after a number of attempts it reconnects. Check the Wireshark log and see if the controller is responding to these messages.

Zodiac FX General / Re: Zodiac FX with multiple subnets
« on: December 21, 2018, 07:12:35 AM »
Hi,

The Zodiac FX has to have an IP address on the same subnet as the controller to connect, the same as any 2 IP devices that need to talk to each other. The hosts can be on any subnet, their connectivity to each other is separate from the controller.

Paul

Zodiac GX General / Re: DHCP Server!
« on: October 18, 2018, 09:26:06 AM »
The only way would be to add the DHCP server package (dnsmasq) to the build config and recompile the firmware. It wasn't included because it is running as a switch as opposed to a router.

Zodiac GX Firmware / Re: .bin file development
« on: September 24, 2018, 04:06:35 PM »
Hi Kursat,

The CPU in the Zodiac GX is a MT7621A. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a usable JTAG connector so you can't use a hardware debugger like the Zodiac FX but it does run Linux so all the standard Linux debugging tools are available.

Paul

Hi,

Can you please turn on debugging via the serial console (trace command in the debug context) to see if that provides any additional information.

Paul

Zodiac GX General / Re: Meter Support for the GX
« on: September 08, 2018, 04:51:57 PM »
The current GX firmware (v1.01) is based on OVS 2.5 which doesn't support meters in the kernel module. The next firmware release (v1.10) which is using OVS 2.10.0 does support meters and should be available in the next couple of days if all goes well with testing.

Zodiac FX General / Re: Default action in OpenFlow 1.3
« on: July 17, 2018, 06:35:25 AM »
The default action for non-matching packets is different based on the OpenFlow version. In the OpenFlow 1.0 specification it states "If no matching entry can be found for a packet, the packet is sent to the controller over the secure channel.", however in the OpenFlow 1.3 spec it is "If the table-miss flow entry does not exist, by default packets unmatched by flow entries are dropped". A table-miss entry is basically a match everything flow and a lot of OpenFlow applications will use this to sent unknown packets to the controller, similar to what 1.0 would do by default.

Zodiac WX Development / Re: Kernel upgrade/downgrade
« on: June 29, 2018, 11:10:53 AM »
Hi Omar,

The controller IP address and port can change to whatever you like by going to System->Starup and modifying the settings in the startup script, there are more details here. The controller also runs in-band so it can be anywhere that has IP connectivity from the WX.

If the controller is not running any applications that will install the required flows you will lose connectivity on the LAN port and for the wireless clients because there are no flows to allow the traffic. It is set to "fail stand-alone" mode by default so if you stop the controller it will allow traffic again.

Paul

FlowMaker General / Re: Where and how to install flowmaker
« on: June 29, 2018, 11:02:01 AM »
Hi Rahim,

We have stopped providing Flow Maker as it no longer works with the Aruba controller since they updated it. I would recommend trying FlowManager for the RYU controller as it provides a similar functionality.

Paul
